Amendment 68

Summary

Who can forget the impact of these words from our founding:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty, the pursuit of Happiness and casinos at three racetracks.

This is a blatant attempt by the owners of three racetracks to force the state to allow them to open casinos. They include a payoff of funds going to K-12 schools, but that amount is likely to be so small as to be of no significance.

Vote NO! Vote No

It is ridiculous that something like this is being proposed for our state constitution.

It's also a naked play to force casinos at three specific locations to enrich the owners of those racetracks at the expense of the communities.

Arguments Against

I think this is one of the few ballot initiatives that has every elected official, Democratic & Republican, opposed.

Leave it to local communities to decide if they will have gambling. And if they do, how it will be structured and taxed.

Arguments For

The owners want to make more money.
