Amendment 68SummaryWho can forget the impact of these words from our founding:
This is a blatant attempt by the owners of three racetracks to force the state to allow them to open casinos. They include a payoff of funds going to K-12 schools, but that amount is likely to be so small as to be of no significance. Vote NoIt is ridiculous that something like this is being proposed for our state constitution. It's also a naked play to force casinos at three specific locations to enrich the owners of those racetracks at the expense of the communities. Arguments AgainstI think this is one of the few ballot initiatives that has every elected official, Democratic & Republican, opposed. Leave it to local communities to decide if they will have gambling. And if they do, how it will be structured and taxed. Arguments ForThe owners want to make more money.
